| Telangiectasia
Also called “spider veins,” telangiectasia is the dilation
of a group of capillaries. Telangiectasia are the thread-like colored
veins most often seen on the surface of the skin. Telangiectasia
are visible through the skin and appear dark blue, swollen, and
twisted.
Telangiectasia occur most commonly in the legs but are often seen
in the face and elsewhere.
Telangiectasia occurs when the vein
is not functioning correctly to help bring blood back up towards
the heart. It is most often not as painful as enlarged varicose
veins but is still liable to bleed and worsen without treatment.
Spider veins, unlike varicose veins,
most often do not occur in response to increased pressure except
for the pressure created by nearby varicosities themselves. They
often arise from the presence of the female hormone estrogen, which
is most likely why these spider veins are seen more commonly in
females.
The Laser Clinic lasers feature innovative ultra-long pulse duration,
the longest offered in a laser
that treats Telangiectasia. This means
that each pulse delivers laser energy to targeted blood vessels
over longer periods of time, resulting in a gentle heating effect
and uniform results.
By heating targeted vessels more gently, The Laser Clinic avoids
the downtime that bruising may cause (otherwise known as purpura).
The Laser Clinic combines large laser
spot sizes with the ability to vary laser pulse durations. This
allows treatments to be quick,
effective, and comfortable. Results
may vary based on your individual situation. Please contact us for
