(Hypertrophic Scars)
Hypertrophic scars consist of fibrous tissue formed during the healing
of a wound, enlarged due to the increased size of the cells composing
it.
Hypertrophic scars can be found anywhere on the body, within the
boundaries of the original wound.
The cause of hypertrophic scars is
not entirely known. However, when a wound begins to heal, new skin
cells are produced as part of the healing process. Sometimes those
cells are enlarged and begin to grow in all directions, elevated
above the skin.
The Laser Clinic lasers feature innovative ultra-long pulse duration,
the longest offered in a laser
that treates scars. This means that
each pulse delivers laser energy to the targeted scarred area over
longer periods of time, resulting in a gentle heating effect and
uniform results.
By heating targeted skin cells more gently, The Laser Clinic avoids
the downtime that bruising may cause (otherwise known as purpura).
The Laser Clinic combines large laser
spot sizes with the ability to vary laser pulse durations. This
allows treatments to be quick,
effective, and comfortable. Results
may vary based on your individual situation. Please contact us for
