| Hemangiomas
Hemangiomas are birthmarks that form when many immature blood vessels
bunch together. There are three basic types of Hemangiomas.
1) Stork bites are very thin, light pink, flat patches of discoloration
found most frequently at the hairline on the back (nape) of the
neck.
2) Strawberry Hemangiomas are thick, raised areas that are soft,
purplish red, smooth or slightly bumpy, and may be irregular or
circular in shape.
3) Deep Hemangiomas are thicker, deeper raised areas that often
are purple-blue in color and may feel like spongy tissue filled
with fluid.
Stork bite Hemangiomas are found most frequently at the hairline
on the back (nape) of the neck. Other Hemangiomas may be found in
any location on the body. In addition, they can develop on the upper
eyelids or upper lip or between the eyebrows.
Strawberry Hemangiomas are seen most commonly on the face, scalp,
back, or chest but can occur anywhere on the body.
The cause of most types of hemangiomas
is unknown. Hemangiomas are not dangerous or contagious.
The Laser Clinic lasers feature innovative ultra-long pulse duration,
the longest offered in a laser
that treats Hemangiomas. This means
that each pulse delivers laser energy to targeted blood vessels
over longer periods of time, resulting in a gentle heating effect
and uniform results.
By heating targeted vessels more gently, The Laser Clinic avoids
the downtime that bruising may cause (otherwise known as purpura).
The Laser Clinic combines large laser
spot sizes with the ability to vary laser pulse durations. This
allows treatments to be quick,
effective, and comfortable. Results
may vary based on your individual situation. Please contact us for
